Elcenir de Carvalho /ˈeltʃɪni ðə kɑːvəloʊ/, aka Ceni /tʃɪni/, born on June 8, 1970, in Vitória, ES - Brazil, raised in Cobilândia, Vila Velha, Espírito Santo - Brazil, comes from a low-income family. As a very young child, he was put on punishment and forced to help his second stepfather, a radio-television technician, in his workshop.

At the age of 9, tired of being spanked by his mother and stepfather to open-handed swats, belt and wire and grounded every single day; sometimes he was put on his knees on corn seeds scattered on the floor for hours, longing for a big change in his early years, he started collecting egg cardboard boxes and copper wire from trash in the streets of that small town to sell them to a junk yard and to make some money in the process. He then enrolled himself into a private English course in Vitória, the Capital city of Espírito Santo, not too far from his town. He was only 12.

Ceni became one of the main regional managers for Real bank in the state of Espírito Santo, Brazil. He got married and moved on with his plans and dreams.

He believes that everyone is capable of giving back in one way or another.

Every year, Elcenir grants full scholarships for English courses to individuals from low-income families.

To shorten the story, despite having terrible memories of his childhood and disappointments caused by his mother, stepfathers, and siblings, Ceni has revealed himself to be a very friendly person who loves, respects, and helps others without measuring any sacrifice. He has become a great and honest professional in all the fields he has dedicated himself to and specialized in on his own.
